shlou is a small-batch botanical skincare brand I create by hand in Lisbon, using simple plant-led ingredients and slow, considered formulas.
Hello
I'm Chloé.
shlou. is a nickname I grew up with in Doha, where Chloé in Arabic became shlou. It felt like a true representation of myself, so nothing else felt more fitting for the brand. For many years I made these products for friends and family. Encouraged by them, I took the step of sharing my creations more broadly.
Every balm, butter and blend is handcrafted using botanical ingredients that are naturally derived, organic, and sourced from trusted suppliers.
Everything is done by hand. No mass production, no excess, no noise.
How I make things

Recognisable ingredients
Simple plant-led ingredients, chosen with care. Some are grown here in Portugal, others are sourced from producers and suppliers I trust.
Cruelty free
Always cruelty free, with formulas made carefully and intentionally.
Slow and small
Made in small batches by hand, with a slower approach to creating and considered packaging where possible.
How it's made
A few jars at a time, by hand.
I make each product in small batches, from whipping the body butter to pouring the lip balms, labelling the jars and packing each order.
It keeps the process slow and intentional, and it is why the range is small. I would rather make a few things well than create too much, too quickly.
